Suddenly it was time and everything went really fast, Renata got to ride in the bed up to the OR while Julian got dressed in a funny spaceman uniform. Renata got a spinal injection and a few minutes later the delivery started. And then it happened.... Lillys first big scream... and what a set of lungs she had! She was not happy at all to be dragged into this world.
This was our first look of our little baby girl...
After our first look the midwife took our little girl to another room to do a quick check-up. Daddy Julian followed to get his first proper view of his beautiful daughter.
Lilly then got her bracelet with her birth number, 1768. That is how many children have been born in Malmö this year. Mommy Renata also got a matching bracelet. After that daddy got to cut the umbilical cord.
Then the midwife went on to measure and weigh little Lilly.
After that daddy got his first cuddle with his little girl.
Then mommy got to see her daughter again.
After 2 hours Renata finally came back from the recovery room to greet her daughter again.
Daddy then went on to dress Lilly in her first little outfit. Look what a beautiful little girl!
Lillys little bed in the hospital.
Two days after the delivery Lilly finally got to go home. Here she is in her Moses basket at home. At the hospital we found out that Lillys has got a hip dislocation to the left hip (DDH, Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip), because of this Lilly will have to wear a brace, called the Von Rosens brace, for 3 months. Here you can see how the brace looks.
